Empowering girls and young women is not only one of the greatest moral challenges of our generation, it is also a pragmatic necessity. Until we address the roots of inequality between girls and boys, including providing girls with equal access to quality education, the world will continue to miss out on huge opportunities for change and growth offered by the education of girls and women.
Considering:
- the responsibility incumbent on civil society
- the need of the developing country
- the efforts to reactivate charitable services, humanitarian, educational and cultural actions
The primary objective of ASAS is to fight against illiteracy. We, the members of Action and Support for Alphabetisation of the Sahelian (ASAS) firmly believes that a literate woman edified the World by contributing to the socio-educational and cultural development of her region. Therefore, ASAS has set itself the target of promoting each girl and young women individually in such areas as education, independence, cultural development, social skills and empowerment competencies.
